Florida SCOY and Advocate Awards
The Florida School Counselor Association (FSCA) Awards and Professional Recognition Committee invites school counseling professionals from around the state to make nominations for School Counselor of the Year 2025 (SCOY) and our Advocate Awards.
School Counselor of the Year Award
Who May Nominate
FSCA Chapters or school districts may choose to select an individual(s) for the SCOY nomination, or a FSCA member may nominate a colleague, or self-nominate.
Criteria
A nominee must be a current FSCA member, employed as a full-time school counselor, and have completed 3 years of school counseling service by October 1, 2024.
How to Nominate

It is important to note these two dates. The portal is open to begin your application for nomination until September 9, 2024. Then you have until October 12, 2024, 11:59 pm EST to return to the portal to complete and submit your packet.

- Create a log-in. You must create a log-in the first time you use the FSCA portal. This login is separate from your FSCA membership.
- Next go to “Apply Today” to start the nomination and application process for SCOY 2025.

- School Counselor Advocate: School Based Administrator an administrator who demonstrates exemplary support of school counseling programs
- School Counselor Advocate: School, Community, and Family a non-administrator who is an educator, school board member, or community leader who demonstrates exemplary support of school counseling
- School Counselor Advocate: District Leader a district supervisor whose leadership has shown outstanding impact in the school counseling field.
Announcement of Winners
All 2025 Awards will be announced and celebrated during the FSCA Convention Luncheon, 12:15 pm-1:45 pm, on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Embassy Suites Tampa USF.
